What advice would you give to someone just starting their life?

Not the normal stuff like, don't do drugs etc.

Based on your life, what would you tell them is really important. What advice would you give to someone just starting their life?
I would tell them to eat right and exercise, cause it will pay off in your old age. Don't put off going to the dentist either. Don't take your teeth for granted.

Start saving money now! Don't touch it until you are middle-aged. Live for today because tomorrow is not promised to you. Don't put anything you want to do off. Health is no respecter of persons.

Keep up with your friends and nurture the relationships that you form.

Always be kind and sensitive to others. You could be in their shoes one day. Give a smile to someone and for goodness sakes, stop rushing through life and smell the roses! What advice would you give to someone just starting their life?
i'm only 19 years old so i don't have all the experience in the world...but i've been through a whole lot for my age. and i can see whats important and all the ';I should have's'; I know this is gonna sound a little like the don't do drugs speech. But the most important thing is dude, stay in school. Education is the only way your gonna make it in life. Some type of education or vocational school. Have a degree in something man. Family is so important and friends that are truly there for you. I've been married for a bit now and the thing that almost tore my marriage apart was money problems. We fought so much over the fact that we were so broke we couldn't even drive anywhere--we couldn't afford gas. We couldn't even go to mcdonalds. It was horrible. WE're just starting to recover from all that. But yeah they say money don't make you happy but it sure the hell helps. So get an education of some kind.

I'm 72 so I know what I'm talking about. Get on with your life and live it! Be polite but don't waste your time listening to all the old fogies telling you what it used to be like. Times have changed, enjoy what you have!
Live each day to the fullest and always do the best you can, treat others with respect and always give your employer a honest days work.
Be honest in your dealings with everyone, always tell the truth. It's much easier to remember the truth than it is to remember a lie.

Buy an old car and fix it up. You'll appreciate it more.

You should know how to cook, do laundry, shoot a gun, ride a motorcycle, tell a story, and make love with equal skill.

If you're a male, accept the fact that when you get married, she will change.

If you're a female, accept the fact that when you get married, he won't change.

Enjoy youth while you can, when you get older and youth is just a memory, make sure it's worth remembering!

To get a good education. To do a job that gives something back to society. Failing that, do voluntary work. Nurture your children and watch them grow up into good adults. Look forward to grandchildren because they are wonderful.
