Looking for life advice from anyone who is 50+ years old?

I'm 22yrs old, you are more than twice my age and have seen a lot more of life. What types of things would you like to pass down to the younger generation about life. Things you know now that you wish you knew then, things you wish you would have done differently, or things you did that have led you to happiness now. Thanks, -KevinLooking for life advice from anyone who is 50+ years old?
Make sure you choose something you really enjoy to do as a profession. It makes going to work more fun and you're more likely to excel. Learn how to play golf as a young person. If you enjoy sports or competition at all, you'll be glad later on you became proficient while you could still move easily. Put God first and family second, then self last. Don't forget about self (we rarely do) but make him last. Spend time with your kids, especially when they're young (up to age 10). If you have to sacrifice time to the job or school, try not to let that happen when they are very young. Their character depends on it. Finally, make it a practice to look for and listen for those things that you're (future) spouse needs and wants. Put them first in all things if possible, and you'll find they will try to respond in kind.Looking for life advice from anyone who is 50+ years old?
Above everything else, make happiness the whole point of life. (Not only your life). But know that getting what you want does not equate to attaining happiness. Instead aim to achieve balance in the three key areas of life. That is take good care of yourself (mind, soul and body), nurture and enjoy your relationships, (significant other, family, friends and relatives in that order) and engage in a good occupation. If you can find an occupation that you are really good at and enjoy immensely go for it, otherwise make the best of what you can find.

Do not believe that you have to take any particular direction in life. Instead try to look for what direction life is pointing you to and flow with that. Do not fight life - beware of your wants. Life鈥檚 obligations are the current that takes you to the destination that is best for you. The less there will be of you in your life the more happiness you will achieve 鈥?it is not all up to you.

In short value happiness the most and do what you have to do.
Trust no one (NO ONE) and get it in writing.

You can always tell someone鈥檚 character by the way they treat those that they feel they don鈥檛 have to treat well.

Those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.

If A is success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut.

I am 49, so I am just shy of your requirement for the question.

When I was young I was raised to despise money and status. This SUCKS. My life options have been severely limited by money and lack of degrees.

This week a filling came out. I had to wait for payday, so I could buy that do-it-yourself filler from Walgreen's because I can't afford to go to a dentist THIS YEAR!

Does that sound like the kind of life you want?

MONEY DEGREES MONEY DEGREES MONEY DEGREES MONEY.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty %26amp; well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up,

totally worn out,%26amp; proclaiming,

';Wow! What a ride!';
Zero in on your true passion, something that really motivates you, and pursue it with all your heart. Don't worry about failure.

Even if you fail, at least you tried your best. Later down the road, you will have fewer regrets...
