Absolutely! My goodness, there are people who have life experience different than mine...training and education that I don't...and I am a pretty wise gal in a few areas where others are not...the give and take and sharing of experience is what makes life so darned wonderful and interesting!
For example, if you're 50 and the new heart doctor who is going to save you is 39, are you going to ignore his advice because he is younger?
I saw an interview with a 20-year-old millionaire who made bundles on the internet while in high school--am I going to take his advice? You betcha!
I've seen some really scattered seniors whom I wouldn't trust to tell me the time of day, and some really ';wise old souls'; who were eight years old.
Life experience and wisdom is what matters--not the number of years your body has been in existence!Would you take/accept life advice from someone younger than you?
Absolutely. From the mouth of babes there is a lot of wisdom. Many times a little kid will speak the truth that an adult will not. If you're not listening to the little children, you're not growing financially, emotionally or physically. Listen and learn!
Many young people have not yet been polluted by societies fake values and can still see clearly. In your heart you will know its true if you are really listening. Don't be too proud to consider everything children have to say....
Teen agers waver. They aren't sure if their child eyes are true or not and are trying to be cool. Teen agers are off sometimes because they are confused and don't know if they should say what they see or not.
Young adults who have not yet had a lot of hurtful business failures and are still full of zeal are often right on with their business advice but sometimes they don't know the consequenses of failure. You have to decide the risk but what they say is right on. If you can keep that youthful attitude, you can maintain success. You know there are quite a few people under 30 who have already become millionaires while I'm 50 and still struggling. If a 23 year old wants to give me business advice, I'd listen. Especially if he/she has a good track record already.
An ounce of insight is more valuable than a pound of experience...sometimes! Lots of times.
Sometimes, the young have minds that far surpass their age and could actually be insightful. Lets not forget that someone younger could bring our attention to important little things in life. I think we should take as much advice as we can to broaden our own minds, maybe we can help others that are older than us.
You have to be open to every human being's thoughts and beliefs as most are as they are as a result of life's experiences. To immediately shut an individuals perspective out because of their age would be cutting yourself short of what could be valuable information or thoughts. BE receptive to each and every persons thoughts and views and weigh them on your own to see if you your your thoughts and beliefs relate. Children are often full of valuable not yet jaded thoughts and viewpoints.
My dear James....
Well...WHY NOT ??? I always take advice from ';anyone'; -no matter- WHAT age -or- background, because I think ...anyone can give you useful advice !! It does NOTdepend on the age...but rather : the maturity!!! I even take advice from a ';bum'; on the perk-bench...and if it's nothing but...to let me know...NOT to ';end-up'; that way !!! smile ! So...James,..do take advice from people...no matter who it may be...It's still up to YOU to ';heed'; it -or- NOT !!!
By the way, James...I recently saw an article in the ';Washington Post'; regarding ';our'; subject, which I'd like to recite:
';Never give advice. The ignorant won't heed it and the WISE... don't need it'; !
In a certain ';Aspect';, this saying is TRUE !! Wishing you all the best for the future ! Greetings from Germany with lots of love %26amp; care... Annette***
I tend not to, as at 19, people younger than me tend to be a little immature.
I have and do. At 63, I better!
