I've never planted anything in my life, I need some advice on planting Zinnias?

I live in Iowa, so not the sunniest weather. So far, I know I need to plant where the flowers will have access to a lot of sun. How exactly do I go about planting them? I need to know about soil, water, and everything. Thanks so much!I've never planted anything in my life, I need some advice on planting Zinnias?
Super easy to grow from seed. Till or rake the soil to rough it up, sprinkle seeds on top of soil, full sun location, surface water daily, water deeply but less frequently after they germnate. Will sprout when the ground temperature is 50 degrees F, heavy feeders, for bushier plants remove the terminal bud.I've never planted anything in my life, I need some advice on planting Zinnias?
It is best to plant the seeds directly in the ground where they will grow and not try to transplant them. Zinnias are very hardy flowers so will grow in any decent soil and not require a lot of water. The package of seeds should tell you how far apart to plant them. You can sow the seeds closer together and then thin them out as you see which ones are doing the best.
Zinnias are easy flowers. Just put the seed in the ground and water.
