I want to drive trucks but I don't want to do over the road. What are my options, please no life advice.?

Only one option. None.

Why no life advice? Seems you need some.I want to drive trucks but I don't want to do over the road. What are my options, please no life advice.?
If you already have a CDL, look into local companies that need drivers. Go through the Yellow Pages %26amp; call up some of the road paving, construction companies to see if they need drivers to haul asphalt to a job site, cement truck drivers, etc.

All of these type of jobs require no overnight runs. If you just don't want to have to be gone 14-30 days like is required as an OTR driver, check into some of the LTL (Yellow, FedEx, UPS, etc) %26amp; regional companies that may only require you to be gone 2-3 days per week.

There are options available, but you have to take the time to look for them, make phone calls, ask other LTL or local drivers if the company they work for is hiring. These jobs are not going to just fall in your lap, you need to put forth an effort finding them.

If you do not have your CDL yet, it's going to be a little more difficult getting hired with a local company. Most of the one's near where I live want someone who has had a minimum of 3-5 years of driving experience under their belt. (Mostly for insurance reasons)I want to drive trucks but I don't want to do over the road. What are my options, please no life advice.?
First off, he said he didn't want to run over the road not on it. If you don't know what your talking about don;t answer.

There are a lot of ';local'; driving positions. Most will have you home every night and off on weekends. Most will also be delivery of products or comm. freight. If lifting a lot bothers you, you'll probably want to do something else. Biggest problem is that with the economy the way it is the good jobs are going to be real hard to come by. ';Line haul'; drivers don't lift as much as delivery drivers but they also run just nights from terminal to terminal.

What ever you do don't be a fool and buy your own truck. Let someone else worry about the fuel, ins, upkeep, etc, ect. I wish I still had my line haul.....
I can't really understand your question - you want to drive trucks, but not on the road? Where do you plan to drive?
One option is in quarries with various haul trucks.
What do you mean by ';over the road';?
